Happy 8th Foundation Day!
The celebration began with a lively parade featuring students, teachers, staff, the administrator, and the director. The group made its way around the city, starting from Kampfumo to Praça da OMM, passing along Vladimir Lenine and Eduardo Mondlane, continuing toward Julius Nyerere, and finally returning via Kenneth Kaunda. It was a beautiful, rain-free day—especially welcome after nearly a week of rain—and everyone was delighted to enjoy the sunshine.
Students and teachers rode together in a medium-sized truck, creatively decorated with balloons and information about the 8th Foundation Day, including the different year levels represented. Kudos to the teachers for the wonderful decorations!
Upon returning to the school, everyone gathered at the stage after a short rest. The program officially opened with the National Anthem of Mozambique, followed by a warm welcome message from the school director, Mr. Mohammad Jamil Kassem.
The performances began with delightful dance presentations from the Kindergarten Nursery and Playgroup, followed by Kinder 1 and Kinder 2. The school assistants also energized the crowd with a lively Mozambican dance, and the Kinder teachers showcased their own special performance.
Next came the Primary level presentations from Grades 1, 2, and 3, followed by another vibrant dance number from the school assistants. Grades 4, 5, and 6 then took the stage with their own performances, and the Primary teachers impressed everyone with a special dance presentation as well. The High School students added to the excitement with singing and dancing performances. All the presentations were beautiful, energetic, and full of life.
Before the program concluded, everyone enjoyed a fun hamburger-eating contest involving teachers and staff. Teacher Neusha and staff member Mercy emerged as the winners of this hilarious competition.
