MICMUN 2026

Model United Nations (MUN) simulations are dynamic educational forums that engage hundreds of thousands of students worldwide each year. These immersive experiences provide participants with a deeper understanding of the principles, processes, and challenges of the United Nations while developing the skills needed to become future leaders in fields such as law, government, business, science, and the arts. Many influential figures across diverse professions credit their early experiences in MUN with helping shape their confidence, critical thinking, and leadership abilities.

Organizing a successful MUN conference requires the collective efforts of many stakeholders. Strong partnerships between schools, dedicated student leaders, supportive educators, and engaged parents are essential to creating a meaningful and rewarding experience. At its heart, MUN is built on collaboration, and the success of a conference reflects the shared commitment of everyone involved.

For educators, the greatest measure of success is the growth of their students. MUN develops essential skills including research, public speaking, negotiation, problem-solving, and diplomacy. It nurtures leadership, encourages cultural understanding, and inspires participants to become informed and responsible global citizens. More than an academic exercise, MUN is a transformative experience that leaves a lasting impact on those who take part.

From 29–31 May 2026, Maputo International College will proudly host MICMUN 2026, bringing together students from across the region to engage in debate, diplomacy, and international cooperation.

-United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

     -United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

Through debate, negotiation, and consensus-building, delegates will gain invaluable experience in international relations while fostering the spirit of cooperation and global citizenship that lies at the heart of the United Nations.
