Grade 11 Sciences

English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Business Studies, Literature, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Studies. The students who enter Grade 9 are made to choose between the Sciences or Arts / Commercials Section which effectively extends the IGCSE course period, from the official 2 years to 3 years. This is the program provides a broad curriculum that is suitable for schools and colleges around the world. It is designed to encourage high academic standards through a practical approach to teaching and learning. The IGCSE is also internationally recognized as equivalent to, in standard to British GCSE and International GCE O Level Examinations. The syllabi in all subject areas are regularly reviewed and revised to ensure that they reflect current subject developments as well as fulfill the requirements of schools around the world.

Grade 11

Under the IGCSE, students in Grade 11 are required to write external examinations administered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations. Upon successful completion, the students receive individual subject certificates. They have to pass 5 subject papers to be proclaimed as graduates of IGCSE and to qualify for the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level (AL), both are pre-university courses. Students who passed 5 subjects in IGCSE are qualified to enroll in the AS and A-Level. These are pre-university courses that will help the students to be more prepared and qualified to enter university life. With the school’s Cambridge Program, we offer a pre-university curriculum and examination system that emphasizes the value of a broad and balanced study for academically able students. Discipline is cultivated into all activities to emphasize the school’s culture of excellence.

Co-curricular Activities

Portuguese is a subject taught in the afternoon twice a week for 1hour 30 minutes to 2 hours each, depending on the level. Students are grouped into different levels as a result of a diagnostic test. Level 1 is taught to all no speakers and Levels 2-4 are for those who already know the language depending on how much skill and knowledge the students have. Portuguese IGCSE and AS exams are also written at the end of each final year. There are clubs that students can join, depending on their interests; these include Science, Arts, Drama, Business, Chess, and Mathematics. These encourage teamwork and develop the talents of the students. Sport is also an activity offered in the afternoon. Football, basketball, and track and field events are among the sports activities taught to the students.
