Students will choose their subjects combinations depending on the courses they want to do in the University. All subjects available in Grade 11 are also available at these stages

Note:

1. OPTIONAL Portuguese and French lessons are conducted in the afternoon for all grades depending on their language skills, and examinable on completion of IGCSE, AS, ‘A’ level language skills requirements
2. The students who enter Grade 9 have to choose between the Science and Commercials Sections which effectively extends the IGCSE course period, from the official 2 years to 3 years.
3. Students in Grade 11 are required to write IGCSE external examinations administered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations. This can be in the May/June or October/ November examinations sessions. Upon successful completion, the students receive individual Certificates. They have to pass 5 subjects, Mathematics and English compulsory, to qualify for the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level
4. Students who passed 5 subjects in IGCSE are qualified to enroll in the AS (4 subjects compulsory) and then A-Level (3 subjects compulsory), which is a staggered 2 year process with examinations at the end of each year. These are pre-university courses that will help the students to be more prepared and qualified to enter university life.
5. Discipline is cultivated into all activities to emphasize the school’s culture of excellence.

 

 

Co-curricular Activities

Portuguese and French are subjects taught in the afternoon twice a week for 1hour 30 minutes to 2 hours each, depending on the level. Students are grouped into different levels as a result of a diagnostic test. Level 1 is taught to all non speakers and Levels 2-4 are for those who already know the language depending on how much skill and knowledge the students have. Portuguese and French IGCSE and AS exams are only written in the May/ June Examination Session.

Clubs; students can join minimum one club, depending on their interests; these include Model United Nations (MUN), World Scholars, Young Engineers, Robotics, Science, Arts, Drama, Events Management, Entertainment, Chess, and Mathematics. These encourage teamwork and develop the talents of the students.

Sport; is also an activity offered in the afternoon. Football, Basketball, Swimming and Track and Field events are among the sports activities taught to the students.

We encourage our students to help the community by donations to orphanages, volunteering and fully support all and any initiative they may have that will reach this goal.
