Online lessons and what are New Normal
Online lessons started last March 23, 2020, after the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi suspended school face to face classes so as to protect the students from the spread of coronavirus.
Thereafter, MIC went online. Most teachers use Google classroom and Zoom to present and discuss their lessons to their students. The use of headphones with microphones became suddenly popular. Online video conference is a hit with the platform Zoom as emerging as number one. Google classroom is voted as the best platform by most of the teachers because of its ease of use, clarity, and organization.
After seven months, face to face class with the students resumed but for only grades 7 to 12. It followed guidelines set by the government to ease the restriction and improve the economy which is also affected by the pandemic. The students in both primary and kindergarten were informed to continue staying at home and do the lessons online.
The world may be different now as what Mohamed El-Erian has said, “The world is on a bumpy journey to a new destination and the New Normal. " For that, we need to be responsible for putting on our masks, washing our hands or disinfecting with alcohol, and to observe proper distancing at all times. These are the things that were inserted into our society that makes it a new norm or behavior that everyone should follow and respect
